CCN1 (or suitable changeover) is required for any Operative wishing to work on domestic gas installations and appliances providing that the Operative also holds the relevant appliance element relating to the work they wish to undertake.
For Initial Assessment Candidates must meet the entry requirements which are either Candidates who have completed a full Gas Managed Learning Programme (MLP) and hold a valid Training Certificate or for Candidates who had previously held a valid CCN1 certificate but their certificate has expired over 12 months.
The CCN1 Core Domestic Gas Safety Certificate is regarded as an equivalent to a Level 3 QCF/RQF qualification in the Gas Utilisation Sector (which is also aligned to ACS) and satisfies the same Gas Safety Criteria leading to a Certificate of Competence recognised by the Gas Safe Register.
